Mumbai, Jun 23: Kannada Sangha of Santacruz here recently distributed school uniform to deserving children at a function held at Billava Bhavan.

Association president L V Amin presided over the function while Bharat Bank chairman and president of Mumbai Billawar Association president Jaya C Suvarana was the chief guest and Lion P K Shetty, managing trustee of Rev C F Andrew Junior College, was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Kannada Sangh Santacruz has been distributing books, uniform to deserving children for the last few years.  The association which is on the threshold of celebrating its golden jubilee had also donated lacs of rupees, clothes and other necessary items to people affected by heavy rains and floods in the city last year. R Shetty who had recently been awarded international award by Insurance and Financial Advisory organizations of Million Dollar Round Table was honoured on the occasion.

Honourary treasurer Chandarahas G Kotian, joint secretary G R Bangera, joint-treasurer S V Amin, secretary Dinesh Amin and others were present on the dais.

The programme began with a prayer hymn by school children.  Ravindara B Amin welcomed the gathering, B D Suvarna proposed the vote of thanks while Nityanand D Kotian compered the programme.
