Badou Zaki named Morocco's new football coach


Rabat (Morocco), May 3 (IANS): Badou Zaki has been appointed the new coach of the Moroccan team, the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced.

Zaki, 55, is tasked with coaching the Moroccan national team 10 years after having led them to the finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2004 in Tunis, reports Xinhua.

He replaces interim coach Hassan Benabicha as Morocco prepare to host Africa Cup of Nations January 2015.

Zaki is a former international goalkeeper and played for Morocco at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the World Cup two years later in Mexico.
