NIA gets six-day custody of IM operative


New Delhi, May 3 (IANS): A court here Saturday granted six days custody of Indian Mujahideen operative Faizan Ahmed Sultan, who was deported from Sharjah to Delhi, to NIA.

Special NIA Judge I.S. Mehta in an in-camera hearing granted six days custody of Sultan.

National Investigation Agency sources said Sultan provided hiding places to the top leadership of the IM since 2008. His name was disclosed by an arrested IM operative and then by Yasin Bhatkal.

Sultan was active in 2008 when IM carried out a series of bombings in the country.
