Six killed in Afghanistan Taliban attack


Kabul, May 5 (IANS): At least six people, including two policemen, were killed and two others were injured Monday in a Taliban attack in west Afghanistan, police said.

"One suicide bomber detonated a car bomb close to Dilaram District intelligence agency office. Four other militants tried to seize the building. They were killed in subsequent exchange of fire with security forces," deputy provincial police chief, Colonel Abdul Rahim, told Xinhua.

"Two policemen were injured during the firing. No civilian casualties took place," Rahim said.

Earlier Monday, at least eight people, including six policemen, were also killed by Taliban militants in Gurziwall district in the northern Afghan province of Faryab.
