Food official held for taking bribe


Gurgaon, May 5 (IANS): A food and supply officer was arrested by the State Vigilance Bureau here Monday for accepting a bribe, an official said.

Vigilance officials arrested Manoj, a sub-inspector in the food and supplies department posted at Sohna, about 26 km from here.

"Manoj had demanded Rs.13,000 from Rakesh, a depot holder in village Damdama, for stock checking," an official said.

"The officer was caught red handed while accepting Rs.10,000 as part of the demanded bribe," he said.
