Warm Monday in Delhi, light rain expected Tuesday


New Delhi, May 5 (IANS): It was a warm Monday in the national capital with the maximum temperature recorded one notch below the season's average at 38.2 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast light rain Tuesday.

"The sky will be partly clear tomorrow (Tuesday). Very light rain or thunderstorms could occur in some areas till afternoon," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 39 and 26 degrees Celsius.

The city recorded 14.6 mm rainfall till 5.30 p.m.

Monday morning was hot and sunny with a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.

The temperature had crossed the 40 degree-mark last week.

Sunday's maximum and minimum temperature was recorded a notch above the season's average at 39.7 and 24.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
