Landmine blast averted in Kashmir


Jammu, May 5 (IANS): Timely detection of a landmine by Border Security Force (BSF) troopers in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district near the international border averted a major tragedy in the area Monday.

BSF sources told IANS that troopers of the 9th battalion detected an anti-personnel mine at Regal in Rajpura area of Kathua Monday morning.

The international border in Jammu and Kashmir is guarded by the BSF while the Line of Control (LoC) between the Indian and Pakistan-administered Kashmir is guarded by the Indian Army.
