Lufthansa to operate Boeing 747-8 to Mumbai


Mumbai, May 7 (IANS): German passenger carrier Lufthansa Wednesday said it will launch services between Frankfurt and Mumbai on its flagship Boeing 747-8 from July 15.

Mumbai becomes the third city in India where Lufthansa will operate the Boeing 747-8. Currently it operates the aircraft to Delhi and Bangalore.

Lufthansa was the global launch customer for the latest version of the Boeing jumbo jet.

    I thought Lufthansa already operated a service to and from Frankfurt from Mumbai, because I flew on it on the 25th of March and returned on the 10th of April

    Yes Dr. but they were using Boeing 747-400. Now they have introduced newer version of the 747, the 747-8I, which is said to be the most fuel efficient long range aircraft present in the aviation market.
