Going to voting machine not allowed, says EC after AAP tweets against Rahul

New Delhi, May 7 (NDTV): Among several pictures that the Aam Aadmi Party tweeted today complaining about what it alleged was violation of election rules by Rahul Gandhi as his constituency Amethi voted, was one that showed him in a poll booth, seeming to look down at an Electronic Voting Machine or EVM. AAP tweeted, "Is the candidate allowed to go to the polling machine?"

The Election Commission said this evening that "Going to the EVM is not allowed."

Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi also said that the panel was "yet to see this....it's a speculative situation. Rules are very clear. We will wait for reports."

In another picture AAP tweeted, Mr Gandhi stood talking to some people in a booth. AAP asked, "Does the election commission allow candidates to stand and chat inside polling stations?"

A huge debate raged on social media through the day on who is allowed in a polling booth and how.

AAP also tweeted a video recording of what it alleged was a both-capturing attempt. It did not say by which party, but in a series of other tweets made specific allegations.

Early on Wednesday morning, the party complained against Mr Gandhi for moving around in a large motorcade. "We have complained to the Election Commission, he was using 24 cars," said Kumar Vishwas, whom Arvind Kejriwal's party has fielded against Mr Gandhi in what has hitherto been seen as one of the safest seats in the country for the Congress.

That Mr Gandhi was in Amethi on polling day and out touring a constituency he has effortlessly won since 2004, was interpreted by his rivals as an acknowledgement that he faces a tough contest this time. AAP claimed credit. So did the BJP. "Kam se kam zameen par to aaye (At least his feet have touched the ground)... He realizes that Amethi is a tough fight," said the BJP's Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

The BJP's Smriti Irani complained about the presence of Prinyanka Gandhi's political secretary Preeti Sahay at an Amethi polling booth. AAP tweeted its protest. Ms Sahay was asked to leave Amethi in compliance with election rules,

On a day of complaints in Amethi, even Rahul Gandhi complained about the lotus drawn on the blackboard of a village school that was being used as a polling station.

..In many states it is reported that EVM malfunctions, if you press any button CONGRESS light blinks!!..there may be areas it is not get noticed..Software can be easily hacked.when ATM card/credit cards are duplicated, EVM is not difficult to tampered with..Dont be surprised if Congress gets more seats even people didn't like it..In many countries still paper ballots are used..even though it consumes time & manpower..compared to EVM, still paper ballots are safe..

Where are the rules of the land now? Or anything can be breakable for the Gandhi family? May be, if he can tore the orders of the Indian Prime Minister, then he can press the button of Election Machine also!!! What is going on? Why all the Institutions are giving so much lift for this Gandhi family? They are telling that their whole family has sacrifices for the nation, Oh m God, there is no value for the great Martyar Bhagat Sing and RAjguru! But Gandhi are enjoying all the benefits of so-called sacrifices. On every road, one can seen the name of Gandhis, on every building their is Gandhi tag and now but why they are shyring when some one tells them that the name of Gandhis are related to every corruption? If they says that their family have sacrificed for the the nation, at the same time they have also looted the nation, that too on biggest side. This misconception should have to be erased firmly. Now the Law must take action equally.

Very "free and fair" elections indeed! Kumar Vishwas of AAP and Smriti Irani of BJP having been screaming about booth capture by Congress in more than 50 polling stations in Amethi. EC keeps saying it is just rumors despite picture after picture of Congress karyakartas assaulting opposition party workers.

If Modi takes a selfi 100 yard outside polling booth, congress complains and EC tells police to file FiR. Look at this. Pappu does not belong to Amethi but seen inside polling boot that too near the EVMs. What is he doing there ? Is he a tech support to repair the EVMs ? Ho can he do show of strength in Amethi today ? Is it banana republic. Why is the EC quite now. ? Where are the hypocrite congis now ? Seems like one caged parrot the CBI is falling in line But EC still in the clutches of 10 janpath. This is the secret of their winning in six decades.

Congress and Samajwadi Party are having tacit understanding about booth capturing. Since SP is ruling party in UP that party has given full power to police to help Congress goondas to capture booths. Pl note that SP has not fielded their candidate against Rahul in Amethi which is the proof of their secret understanding.
