Panaji, Jun 27: Associated Cement Companies Limited (ACC) is trying to emulate Mangalore-experiment throughout the country to give durable roads, company officials stated.

"We have done concreting of roads in Mangalore. They are built with blended cement which is durable and gives best quality of roads," Arvind Pathak, ACC's regional head, (South and West) told Daijiworld.

The ACC has concreted a road stretch from Mangalore airport.

In Goa, the ACC intends to work on its product ACC Marg which will give durability to the roads, he said.

Meanwhile, Considering the increasing demand for ever increasing construction industry, the ACC has decided to invest in their brown field projects to expand their capacities.

``Cement industry cannot fix the target in isolation. We expect the GDP growth at eight per cent so cement industry has fixed their growth target at 10 per cent," Pathak said.

ACC, the 13-plant strong firm is looking at the targeted requirement of construction industry and will expand its existing capacity rather than going for green field projects, he said.

Pathak said that company's pan-India presence is helping them to withstand fluctuations in the prices.
