Mangalore, Jun 27: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia on Tuesday charged the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre with neglecting Hindus in the country to appease the minorities.
Talking to reporters at Dharmastala, about 80 km from here, Dr Togadia, who was at the temple town to attend the 'Chinthan Baitak' of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), said while the Centre had come up with a 15-point welfare programme for muslims and other minority sections, it had failed to intiate any programme for the Hindus.: Condemning the stand taken by the Uttar Pradesh in the issue relating to providing reservation to Muslim students in Aligarh University, he demanded that status quo be maintained in the issue as directed by the Supreme Court.
He demanded that India stop all bilateral talks with Pakistan as ''the latter was supporting ISI-sponsored terrorism in the country.'' To a question, Dr Togadia asserted that the Ram temple at Ayodhya would become a reality. ''The temple will be built at the disputed site in Ayodhya and there need not be any doubt about it,'' he added.
The RSS' week-long 'Chintak Baitak' commenced at Dharmasthala yesterday under the chairmanship of its Chief K C Sudarshan to discuss various issues, including the recent blast at its headquarters in Nagpur and the ''anti-hindu'' policies of the UPA government. VHP International President Ashok Singhal and top RSS leaders from across the country were taking part in the event.
