Red Cross employees in east Ukraine freed


Moscow, May 10 (IANS/ITAR -TASS): Seven Red Cross members detained in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, were released Saturday, media reported.

Unknown gunmen stormed into the Red Cross office in Donetsk and took captive the seven people, including one Frenchman, three men from Donetsk and three from Kiev, spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) David Pierre Marquet said.

The gunmen kidnapped the seven people thinking that they were involved in espionage, Marquet added.
