Doha, May 11: Karnataka Sangh Qatar (KSQ) has announced 'Children Talent Search - 2014', a much awaited event for children hailing from the state of Karnataka.
The event will be held on May 23, May 30 and June 6.
List of different categories and competitions:
1. For children first standard and below
a. Coloring

c. Dancing (cinematic)
2. Sub junior category: Children between 2nd to 4th standard
a. Drawing
b. Dancing (cinematic)
c. Fashion show
3. Junior category: Children between 5th to 7th standard
a. Drawing
b. Singing (cinematic)
c. Dancing (cinematic)
d. Elocution (speech contest)
e. Fashion show
4. Senior category: Students between 8th to 10th standard
a. Drawing
b. Singing (cinematic)
c. Elocution (speech contest)
d. Dancing (cinematic)
e.Fashion show
Team Quiz (two per team): Top 6 will make it to the finals. Children from different categories can form a team.
KSQ indoor sports for children – for all categories
a. Carrom (singles and doubles)

Venue and timings
1. Painting / coloring and team quiz qualifier competition : On May 23 from 7:30 am to 11:30 am at Al Maha Boys Academy.
2. Indoor sports: May 30 from 7:45 am to 11:30 am at Al Jazeera Academy
3. Dancing/fancy dress/singing/elocution/fashion show: On May 30 from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Al Maha Boys Academy.
4. Verbal quiz and prize distribution ceremony will be held on June 6 from 3:30 pm to 9 pm at Al Maha Academy.
Note:
· Entry fee / category: 20 QR
· Last date for registration: May 18
· Spot registration not allowed.
Rules and regulations:
A. Painting / coloring Competition ( Duration: 8:30 am to 10 am):
- For children 1st standard and below, sketch/drawing will be provided. Color pencils/crayons and pad must be carried by the participants.
- For sub junior category, children can do painting/coloring of their own choice. Best among all will be announced as a winner / runner-up. Paper for painting will be provided. All the accessories for the painting including pad must be carried by the participants.
- For junior category, KSQ will give the picture (will be circulated one week in advance) and children have to draw and color/paint the same. Best among all will be announced as a winner / runner-up. Paper for painting/coloring will be provided. All the accessories for the painting/coloring including pad must be carried by the participants
- For senior category theme of the painting will be given on spot. Paper for painting will be provided. All the accessories for the painting including pad must be carried by the participants.
B. Cinematic dancing competition (Time limit: Maximum 5 minutes):
- Participants must bring the CD of the song for which they will dance. Kannada song dance will get bonus point. Best dancer among all, will be announced as winner.
C. Cinematic Singing competition (Time Limit: Maximum 4 Minutes)
- Participants can sing song of their choice but bonus point will be given for singing Kannada song. Best singer among all, will be announced as winner.
D. Elocution (speech contest)
- For Junior category time limit will be 3 minutes 1 Minute grace period.
- For Senior time limit will be 4 minutes 1 Minute grace period
- Topic of the speech will be given to the participants one week before the competition. Bonus point will be given for the participant speaking in Kannada language. Best speaker among all, irrespective of language will be announced as winner.
E. Team Quiz – (Qualifier duration: 10:30 am to 11:30 am)
- Topic is going to be about 'General – Karnataka/India/World'
- Top 6 teams will make it to the finals
F. Fancy dress: No recorded CDs allowed.
G. Fashion show: KSQ will circulate the background music one week prior to the event.
H. Indoor sports:
Table tennis : All preliminary rounds will have 1 set of 25 points. Finals will have 3 sets of 15 points each
Carrom: Finals and Preliminary rounds will have only ONE board.
Chess: Time limit for finals will be 1 Hr; Preliminary Rounds 45 minutes.
I. Entry fees will be QAR 20 per contestant per category
J. No religious songs and dances allowed.
K. Judges decision will be final.
· Carrom, table tennis, chess competition in each category will be conducted based on the number of registration.
· The competitions and games are only for children hailing from the state of Karnataka.
If there are less than 3 entries in any event, then respective event gets cancelled.
