Himachal may get thundershowers


Shimla, May 11 (IANS): Even as the mercury continued to remain up, weathermen here forecast showers in Himachal Pradesh Monday.

"There are chances of thundershowers and hailstorms across the state Monday," an official of the meteorological office told IANS.

Mandi town was the hottest in the state at 38.6 degrees Celsius.

Shimla, situated at an altitude of 2,130 metres, was warm at 20.5 degrees Celsius.

Dharamsala, which saw 6 mm rain, recorded a high of 25.6 degrees Celsius, while it was 13.2 degrees in Kalpa in Kinnaur district and 28 degrees in Solan town.

The picturesque tourist resorts Manali and Dalhousie saw 10 mm and 14 mm rain, respectively.
