Hollande offers security summit on Nigeria abductions

Brussels, May 12 (IANS): French President Francois Hollande Sunday offered to hold a summit in Paris with Nigeria and its neighbours to tackle the issue of Boko Haram's abductions, Xinhua reported.

Hollande made the remarks while visiting Azerbaijan's capital Baku.

Over 200 girls of the community Chibok in Borno State in northeastern Nigeria were abducted in April.

The militant group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the mass kidnapping, and threatened to sell the girls.

The Nigerian military Sunday said there has been no arrest or operation by any foreign military or security allies in the ongoing efforts to rescue the abducted schoolgirls.
