Light rain in Delhi Monday, more rain expected Tuesday


New Delhi, May 12 (IANS): The national capital Monday experienced a cloudy day throughout with light drizzles in some parts of the city. Some more rain is expected Tuesday, the IMD said.

The city received 0.7 mm rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the evening, the weather office said.

The maximum temperature recorded was at 35.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled was 25 degrees, average for the season.

Tuesday is likely to be cloudy and light rain and thundershowers are expected, said the Met Department.

"The skies are likely to remain cloudy and some parts of the city will remain light rain and thundershowers," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 33 degrees and 23 degrees Celsius.

Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded four notches below the seasons's average at 35.2 degrees, while the minimum temperature settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
