Mukherjee pays homage to late president Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed

New Delhi, May 13 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday paid homage to former president Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, on his 109th birth anniversary, at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

Mukherjee paid floral tributes at a portrait of the late president in the presence of Ahmed's family members as well as officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Born May 13, 1905, Ahmed was sworn in as the Indian president on August 24, 1974 and remained in office till his death February 11, 1977.
