Udupi, Jun 29: Sudhakar Poojary murder case which had almost been gone to the dustbin has now been handed over to CoD for investigation.

Sudhakar Poojary who was very close associate of MLA Raghupati Bhat had been hacked to death on May 5, 2004 by one Santhu alias Santhosh.  Ironically, the prime accused Santhu was the close friend of Sudhakar

Sudhakar was a Bajrang Dal member while Santhu did not have great political affiliations.  Yet he had identified himself with Congress at times.  So Sudhakar’s murder case had taken a political colour.

During the initial investigation Santhu had revealed that he was fed-up with Sudhakar's behaviour. So frustrated by this, he said, he had murdered Sudhakar.  He had clearly told that he did not have any political pressure to kill his friend.

Thereafter the enquiry had gone on a snail's pace.  Now when almost the incident has been forgotten, the government has handed over the case to CoD.  Meanwhile Bajrang Dal has said that it would cooperate with CoD in investigation.
