Congress loses two seats in Kerala


Thiruvananthapuram, May 16 (IANS): Two Lok Sabha seats in Kerala have been wrested from the Congress by the CPI and CPI-M, officials said Friday.

Communist Party of India (CPI) leader from Thrissur C.N. Jayadevan defeated K.P. Diana Palance of the Congress by 38,227 votes.

P.K. Sreemathi, former state health minister of the Communist Party of India-Marxist, defeated K. Sudhakaran, the incumbent Congress MP from Kannur, by 6,482 votes.
