Karnataka Class 12 ISC exams : 98.38 pc pass



Bangalore: May 18 (DHNS) :  Students of Karnataka have performed extremely well in the Class XII or Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), securing an overall pass percentage of 98.38 per cent. The results were declared on Saturday . 

Of the total 1,360 students who appeared for the exam from 26 schools in the State, 717 (52.72 per cent) were boys and 643 (47.28 per cent) girls. Only eight girls and 14 boys did not clear the exam. 

The pass percentage of girls at 98.76 per cent was marginally better than that of the boys at 98.05 per cent.

Aditya Varna Iyer scored 98.25 per cent in the science section in the State. The performance of students belonging to the special category in the State was also impressive. Of the total number of students, 24 belonged to SC, 10 to ST and 81 came from OBCs. Their pass percentage was 95.83, 100 and 97.53 per cent respectively.  A total of 68,723 students from 868 schools appeared for the examination throughout the country. 

Of the four regions, the Southern region put up the best performance with a pass percentage of 98.32 per cent. The pass percentage of girls was also highest here at 50.45 per cent. Students who eagerly awaited the ISC results on Saturday had to experience anxious moments as most were unable to access the results for hours. Even schools faced the same problem.

According to the CISCE schedule, the results were to be posted by 3 pm on the council’s website.But Sophia High School and Bethany High School were unable to access the website even till 5 pm. Ryan International School, Yelahanka, too could not secure the results of three of its students till 7:30 pm.

Speaking to the Deccan Herald, Gerry Arthaoon, chief executive and secretary, CISCE said: “The site was down because of technical problems, we are trying to resolve the matter.”
