Kundapur: Shop gutted in fire

Kundapur, May 18: A shop was completely gutted in a fire due to an electric short circuit at Mavinakatte in Kakurnje gram panchayath limits near a chicken farm at night on Friday May 16. This incident occurred at night after the shop was closed. 
 
The shop, named Parashakthi General Stores, was owned by Udaya P Poojary. 










 Udaya Poojary's mother was at the shop till 8 pm. After finishing the day's business, she closed the shop and went to a neighbour's house. 

The fire erupted at around 2:30 am and was noticed by the people who were returning from Saukuru temple's bhajan programme. No damage was done to the adjacent shop.

A refrigerator, weighing machine, coin phone box and several items were gutted in fire.
 
It is said that the accident has caused a loss of Rs 1 lac. 

Taluk panchayath member Shashikala, village accountant Ravi and others visited the place.
