Tata beverages arm acquires Australia's Bronski Eleven

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Tata Global Beverages Monday said it has acquired 100 percent stake in Australia-based Bronski Eleven Pty Ltd, which is engaged in coffee business under the MAP brand.

MAP has significant presence in the R&G (Roast & Ground) coffee and in Pods (single service portions) category in Australia.

This investment is in line with Tata Global Beverages' vision to become a leader in natural beverages including tea, coffee and water, Tata Global Beverages, a unit of Tata Group, said in a statement here.

"The acquisition in Australia will help Tata Global Beverages further expand its offering in Australia to include coffee. It also helps us strengthen our portfolio in the high growth contemporary 'single serve business," said Ajoy Misra, managing director and chief executive officer of Tata Global Beverages.

Tata Global Beverages is already present in the pods segment in the US through an agreement with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters' Keurig single serve machines for Eight O Clock Coffee. It is also present in the single serve segment in Canada with Tassimo, for Tetley tea.
