Kiev, May 20 (IANS): There is no sign of Russian troops' withdrawal from areas bordering Ukraine despite the Kremlin's announcement of a pullback, Ukraine's foreign ministry said Tuesday.
"In practice, at least for the moment, there were no changes in their dislocation," Xinhua cited foreign ministry spokesman Eugene Perebiynis as saying.
Perebiynis said the Ukrainian side is reluctant to accept the fact that "Russian troops have been ignoring the orders of the Russian leadership throughout the month".
Kiev tends to believe that Moscow "at the highest level openly misinform the international community" about its troops' movement, he added.
On Monday, the Kremlin press service said Russia has started pulling back troops from its border regions with Ukraine in an attempt to ease tensions between the two countries.
Moscow earlier said its troops, which were performing exercises near the border with Ukraine's embattled eastern regions, would be withdrawn.
