Nigerian parliament speaker condemns bomb blasts


Lagos, May 21 (IANS): Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives Aminu Tambuwal has condemned the two bomb blasts that occurred in the central city of Jos that claimed 46 live and left 45 injured Tuesday.

Tambuwal urged security agencies to redouble their efforts so as to fish out the perpetrators of the attacks, Xinhua reported. 

Nigerian security agencies have confirmed the death of 46 people in the twin bomb blasts that hit the Terminus Market in Jos Tuesday afternoon. 

Nigeria is currently grappling with security challenges, one of which is the insurgency of Boko Haram, which seeks to enshrine the Islamic Sharia law in the constitution.
