Kundapur: One dead, many injured in accident at Byndoor

Kundapur, May 22: A person was killed and many injured in a tragic accident that took place between a Tata Ace and a Swift car near Naykanakatte in Byndoor after midnight on Tuesday May 20. 


The deceased has been identified as Vignesh Kharvi (27), a resident of Navunda Maski and the injured are identified as Manjunath Kharvi (20), Lakshman Kharvi (35), Gopal Kharvi (26), Prashanth Kharvi (21), Omkar (23), Umesh Mogaveera, Nagaraj Puthran, Nagaraj Kharvi (28), Raju Kharvi (32), Basavaraj Kharvi (30), Nagaraj (27) and Ramesh Kharvi who were in Tata Ace.

Two of them who were seriously injured were admitted to Manipal hospital and the others were admitted to private hospitals in Kundapur. 

Three people who were in the car were seriously injured and were admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur.

Sources said that the victims had come by Tata Ace to witness the flood light tug-of-war tournament that was organized in the Uppunda Urdu school premises. They were returning home when the accident occurred. 

A case has been registered in Byndoor police station.
