Congress Parliamentary Party meeting Saturday

New Delhi, May 23 (IANS): The Congress will Saturday hold the first meeting of its parliamentary party after the debacle in the Lok Sabha election where the party could win only 44 seats.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi is likely to be again elected the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party at the meeting scheduled Saturday evening, party sources said Friday.

Gandhi, who won from her Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh, will address members at the meeting.

It will be her prerogative to choose the new leaders of opposition in the upper and lower house, the sources said.
