Twin blasts kill one in Pakistan

Islamabad, May 25 (IANS): One person was killed and another injured in twin bomb blasts in Pakistan's capital city Islamabad. The attack was carried out in response to a military operation that killed more than 80 rebels, media reports said Sunday.

The explosions took place Saturday around 2.15 a.m. and 3.40 a.m.

“The terrorists wanted to warn the government to get ready for more brutal acts of terrorism in the city against the killing in North Waziristan by security forces,” Dawn online quoted a police official as saying.

Police have said that two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) was used to carry out the attack.

The explosions killed one person and injured another.
