Eight security men killed in Pakistan firing


Islamabad, May 25 (IANS): At least eight security personnel were killed and one injured when unidentified gunmen fired at a check post Sunday in Balochistan.

The gunmen attacked Johar check post on the Quetta-Karachi Highway in Balochistan province, Dawn online reported.

Police personnel and rescue teams immediately reached the site and shifted the injured to Khuzdar Civil Hospital.

Akbar Hussain Durrani, Balochistan's secretary for home and tribal affairs, said the area has been cordoned off as a search operation was underway.
