Warm Sunday in Delhi, Monday to be cloudy


New Delhi, May 25 (IANS): The national capital experienced a warm Sunday with the maximum temperature recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a cloudy Monday.

"The skies will remain cloudy and thundering conditions may occur in some parts of the city," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures Monday are likely to hover around 40 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature Sunday settled at 24.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.

Saturday was warm. However, rain brought some respite from the scorching heat in the evening. The maximum temperature was recorded a notch above the average at 40.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled a notch below the average at 25.5 degrees Celsius.
