Modi to formally take charge Tuesday


New Delhi, May 26 (IANS): Narendra Modi, who will take oath as India's 14th prime minister Monday evening, will formally take charge in his South Block office at 8 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Manmohan Singh, who technically remains prime minister till Modi is formally administered the oath of office and secrecy by President Pranab Mukherjee at 6 p.m. Monday, cleared out from his South Block office on May 13. He had got a standing ovation from his staff during a farewell hosted for him.
