Guerrilla hideout busted in Kashmir


Srinagar, May 26 (IANS): The army Monday said it has busted a guerrilla hideout in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition.

In a joint operation, the Rashtriya Rifles and police busted the underground hideout in Sungal Nar area of Lolab forest around 9 a.m., a statement said.

An AK-47 rifle, three magazines and 40 rounds of ammunition, a pistol, a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) and three rounds of ammunition, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL) and eight rounds of ammunition, two Chinese hand grenades, an improvised explosive device (IED), an IED circuit and a radio set were recovered.
