Chennai/Mangalore, Jul 7: The Southern Railway will operate two special trains from Chennai to Nagercoil and Mangalore to clear the extra rush of passengers.
According to a press release, the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil- Chennai Egmore Special will leave Egmore at 11 pm on Fridays from July 7 till October 27 and reach Nagercoil at 2 pm the next day.
The same train will depart Nagercoil at 1.30 pm on Sundays from 9 July to 29 October and arrive Chennai Egmore at 4.30 am the next day.
The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi and Tirunelveli. Train No 0612 will stop at Mambalam also.
The Chennai Central-Mangalore Special will leave Central station at 4 pm on Saturday and reach Mangalore at 8 am the next day.
The train will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Podanur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Kannapuram, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasargode. Advance reservation for the above trains has commenced on Friday.
