Udupi, May 28: MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, who visited Baje Dam on Tuesday May 27, addressing the media said, "By the grace of God, the water level in the dam has increased. Rural areas and Udupi city will not face water scarcity. There is abundant water for the next 35 days. Already Rs 35 crore has been sanctioned to KUDCEMP for Swarna Project III phase. If the sanctioned amount falls short, money will be obtained from Bahugram Project.”

“Already, there is a water pipeline from Varahi to Saibarakatte. A 25 km pipeline should be installed to get water to Udupi. This will be also useful to the farmers of Saligrama and Brahmavar. After February 13, villagers nearby Baje dam were not allowed to draw water from the dam but as the water level has now increased, the farmers can draw water from tomorrow,” he said.

On this occasion, Mohandas, Davalagiri Ice Plant, Janardhan Bhandarkar, and Yuvaraj were present.
