Guerrilla hideout busted in Kashmir


Jammu, May 28 (IANS): Security forces Wednesday busted a guerrilla hideout in the hilly Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, officials said.

"Based on specific intelligence inputs about a hideout, a joint operation was launched by the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gundoh (Doda) area," defence spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told IANS here.

"War-like stores, including one AK-56 rifle, 10 AK-59 magazines, 555 rounds of AK-56 rifle, one SLR, three SLR magazines, one Chinese pistol, two locally-made rifles, two radio sets and one Chinese magazine were recovered," he said.
