Two arrested in separate cases for possessing ganja

Mangalore, May 29: Rs 17,000 worth of ganja was seized and two were arrested in two different cases in the city on Wednesday, May 28.

The police raided the house of Abdul Rahiman in J M Road, Bunder and seized 312 gm of ganja, worth Rs 10,000. The accused had earlier been convicted twice for smuggling ganja.


He has been taken into custody.

In another incident, Barke police arrested Sharath Kumar (19), a resident of Ashoknagara Dambel,  near Vivekanagar cross in Ballalbagh.

The police said that he was selling ganja to the students.

Approximately 200 gm of ganja, worth Rs 7,000 was seized from him. The operation was carried out by the Barke PSI Shareef and the staff Balakrishna, Dinesh Shetty, Nagappa and Anand.
