Navy chief pays courtesy call on Modi


New Delhi, May 29 (IANS): Navy chief Admiral R.K. Dhowan Thursday paid a "courtesy visit" to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It was a courtesy visit by the navy chief. He conveyed his best wishes to the new prime minister," a navy official said.

Earlier, a post on the Twitter account of the Prime Minister's Office said: "Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R.K. Dhowan met the prime minister in South Block."

Modi had met army chief Gen. Bikram Singh Wednesday.
