Don't include my life's struggle in school textbooks: Narendra Modi

New Delhi, May 30 (Agencies): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday voiced his strong opposition to the plan to include lessons on his struggle in life in school curriculum in BJP-ruled states like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

PM Modi tweeted: “Am reading in the news that some states want to include Narendra Modi's life struggles as a part of their school curriculum.”

“I firmly believe that the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum.”

“India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today. Young minds should read about these greats & emulate them.”

The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were mulling over a proposal to include 'Lessons on the life of Narendra Modi' in school curriculum to "inspire" students.

"We have received suggestions from various quarters that a life-sketch of Modiji be taught in the schools, to inspire students from early age," MP School Education Minister Paras Jain had said.

“These lessons would be taught from standard three to standard six," the Minister said. "Like freedom fighters and other leaders of repute, the life of Modi ji too would inspire the young minds," he said.

Not to be outdone, Modi's home state Gujarat also mooted a proposal to teach primary school students "leadership" lessons from the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"We have decided to include all important chapters of Modi's life into the syllabus of primary schools," Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said.

"The chapters may include events starting from his birth, his humble family background, school days, how he faced struggle at different stages of his life and what are the circumstances behind his decision to become a monk," he said.

Although several comics on Modi's life were released in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls, the proposal to include his life's story in school curriculum appears to be a case of misplaced priorities.

And, the man in question, Narendra Modi, has himself showed the correct way forward.

I wonder did anybody volunteer to put his struggle story in text books, or is he just coming out on his own to make his presence felt. I really dont care if his struggle story is in or out of the books. I would like to see something about great leaders like Vajpayeejee in the books..

    1. A. B. Vajapayee
    2. Abdul Kalam
    3. Man Mohan singh
    4. George Fernandes

Be there in school text books.

This is what modesty & simplicity is. The Cong would have jumped to the offer for publicity like they did 60 years ago. Better include true life stories of Antaino Maino , 'Mangalore Prince' Raul Vinci Khan etc. The students would enjoy the reading. Let the new generation be aware of how the fake 'Gandhi's evolved.

The negative publicity that you guys have initiated has created such a big aura around him, that he elected by a big Margin washing out Cong in the process. If this continues you can take 10 years as granted. Relax till then, pull your socks up & rework your strategy.

    Whole world revolves around Almighty..!!
    We are just katputlis..!!
When any event cannot happen with different categories people...likewise..there is no punishment whatever after death..because God never made all of them same..some are poor..some are physically disabled..some are black..some do not have eyesight..!!
Where is the question arises...when we are all the children's of God..how parents can give punishment to there childrens ...even though they do some mistakes..!!
Just forget about it..'Jannat' and 'Jahanam' itself in this world..need a good eye to view..!! Jai Ho..
