Madrid, May 31 (IANS): Spain defeated Bolivia 2-0 in Seville Friday in their penultimate preparation game before starting the defence of their world title June 13.
A Fernando Torres penalty and a neat finish from Andres Iniesta gave Spain a low key win against a Bolivia team, who defended solidly in a game which made it clear that Spain's main problem in the World Cup could be the lack of an effective centre-forward, Xinhua reported.
Without players from Atletico and Real Madrid, Spain coach Vicente del Bosque handed a debut to Athletic Club Bilbao midfielder, Ander Iturraspe, who lined up alongside Xavi Hernandez and Santi Cazorla.
Meanwhile Javi Martinez and Gerard Pique played in central defence and Torres made his first appearance in attack for Spain since last year's Confederations Cup.
Spain will take on El Salvador in Washington before kicking off the defense of their title against Holland June 13.
