Accra, June 2 (IANS): Ghana football team head coach James Kwesi Appiah has named his final squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The injured Jerry Akaminko, Jeffery Sclupp and David were dropped from the team, announced here Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Akaminko picked up an injury during the closing minutes of Ghana's friendly against the Netherlands in Rotterdam and is ruled out for the next three months.
The squad includes 16 World Cup debutants while Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari will be making their third straight World Cup appearance.
Ghana will play their first match against the United States June 16.

Defenders: Samuel Inkoom, Daniel Opare, Harrison Afful, John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Rashid Sumaila
