Five killed in Indonesia building collapse


Jakarta, June 4 (IANS): At least five people were killed and seven others were missing when a building under construction collapsed in Indonesia, official said Wednesday.

The building crashed down in Samarinda city of East Kalimantan province, Xinhua reported.

Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman for the disaster management agency, said seven people have been treated at a hospital for their injuries after the three-storey structure came down Tuesday.

As many as 65 others escaped unharmed from the accident, Sutopo said.

"Search and rescue for those buried under the rubbles is underway," he said.
