Mercury likely to touch 45 degrees in Delhi


New Delhi, June 6 (IANS): It will be a hot Friday in Delhi with the maximum temperature likely to soar to 45 degrees Celsius, the Met Office said.

"The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 45 degrees Celsius," said an India Meteorological Department official.

The minimum temperature was recorded a notch above the season's average at 29.4 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 42 percent.

Thursday was the season's hottest day so far with a maximum temperature of 44.7 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average. The minimum settled at 27.7 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season.
