Kuwait / New Delhi, Jul 14: An Indian national in Kuwait was on Tuesday hanged to death on charges of murdering his employer.

Shakarullah Ansari, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was hanged to death at 8.15 am (Kuwait time).

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi said, confirming reports about the execution.

Ansari, who reached Kuwait in 2001, had complained about harassment by his employer to the Indian embassy there.

"He is said to have shot his employer in 2003," the minister said.

"All his appeals had been rejected and the execution took place on Tuesday morning," he said.

Officials in the ministry said there have not been any requests from the family to bring the body back to India.
