Mangalore, Jul 14: A teenager was killed when rickshaw tempo he was travelling in turned turtle at Yeskodi near Mulki here on Thursday July 13 night.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep (16), a resident of Suratkal. He used to collect waste food from restaurants of the vicinity and give it to a pig farm at Guttakadu.
On Thursday night he was on his way to Guttakadu on "Infant Jesus" rickshaw driven by Kumar Devadiga. As it reached Yeskodi, it overturned. Though the driver managed to escape, Sandeep was stuck beneath the rickshaw and died on the spot.
It is said that driver was under the influence of alcohol owing to which lost control over the vehicle which gave way for the tragedy.
Mulki police have booked a case in this regard.
