Kundapur Jul 14: Kundapur police led by circle inspector Valentine D'Souza on Wednesday July 12 raided a house at Sulse Cross at Hemmadi near here and confiscated the machinery of a spurious liquor unit.  However, the accused managed to flee the place even before the raid.

The police seized a sealing machine used for illegally manufactured liquor, spirit, duplicate labels along with ten boxes of fake liquor bottles of famous brands like Scotch, Old Monk, and Mc Dowell etc.

The total worth of the seized liquor and machinery is said to be Rs 1.5 lac. The police sources said that the main accused Gangadhar Shetty, president of Anagalli GP and 3 of his accomplices have fled the place.
