Cairo, June 9 (IANS/EFE): Esperance pulled off an epic comeback to beat Club Sportif Sfaxien 2-1 at home in a Tunisian Clasico clash as part of the third round of the African Champions League (ACL) quarterfinal Group A.
Maher Hannachi opened the score for Sfaxien in the 47th minute Sunday, but a quick-fire double by Oussama Darragi and Edriss Mhirssi in the 65th and 66th minute clinched Esperance’s first win in the quarterfinal, reports EFE.
ES Setif lead the group with six points, followed by Al-Ahli Benghazi with five points. Sfaxien with four points are third, while Esperance are in fourth with three points.
