Berlin, June 10 (IANS): Jose Luis Sanmartin Mato, known as Joselu, has signed a four-year contract with German football club Hannover.
Hoffenheim striker Joselu, who played in Frankfurt on loan in the past season, joined Bundesliga rivals Hannover by putting pen to paper Monday on a contract until June 2018, reports Xinhua.
"Joselu called attention with his convincing performances last season. It was our aim to sign a player with top-flight experience but at the same time with development potential. Therefore, we are satisfied that Joselu became a player of Hannover," Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner said.
The 24-year-old striker scored nine goals in 24 games during his loan spell in Frankfurt. However, during his years at Hoffenheim he scored only five goals in 25 appearances.
"My goal was to move to a club with clear prospects for me. With Hannover I will join a great team and an ambitious coach. I will be part of a team that plays attractive football. I am looking forward to the first match in the Hannover dress," the new arrival said.
Hannover finished last season in 10th position in the Bundesliga standings.
