Udupi, Jul 17: The identity of the victims of road accident at Kumragod near Brahmavar has been established. While the rider has been identified as Vasu (32) of Venkatachalapura in Bangalore, the pillion rider has been identified as Jagdish Mogaveera (35), a resident of Dasarahalli in Peenya near Bangalore but a native of Anagalli near Kundapur.
Jagdish and Vasu had come to meet former's mother at Anagalli on Saturday July 15. Vasu was a good friend of Jagdish and had accompanied him on mobike from Bangalore to Kundapur. After visiting Jagdish's house, they were on their way back to Bangalore riding mobike when a tanker going towards Kundapur collided with their bike at Kumragod near Brahmavar around 7.15 pm.
As a result both of them died on the spot. It is said that they were trying to evade potholes on the road when their bike skidded and they fell on the road. Before they could recover, a tanker coming from opposite direction crushed them.
In the beginning it was said that both were from Bangalore. It was only a day later that their identity was established.
Jagdish was married and was living with his wife Netravati and two children in Bangalore. While Vasu's body was handed over to his family members who had come from Bangalore, Jagdish's body was handed over to his mother at Anagalli.
