Retail inflation eases to 8.28 percent in May


New Delhi, June 12 (IANS): India's retail inflation measured in terms of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) declined to 8.28 percent in May from 8.59 percent in the previous month, government data showed Thursday.

For rural areas, the retail inflation declined to 8.86 percent in May from 9.17 percent recorded in the previous month, while for urban areas CPI-based inflation eased to 7.55 percent from 7.69 percent, according to data released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
