Reports claim Real Madrid to replace Casillas

Lisbon, June 15 (IANS/EFE): Keeping in mind Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas’ recent ‘poor performance’, the Spanish club is seeking to transfer Benfica’s Slovakian Jan Oblak.

The contract of the 21-year-old keeper includes a penalty clause worth 20 million euros, according to a report in Portuguese daily Abola. Oblak, who joined the Portuguese club in 2013, has played 27 matches for the club’s first team, reports EFE.

Casillas, along with the entire Spanish squad, was hugely criticised after their 1-5 loss to the Netherlands in their opening World Cup Group B game Friday.
