Australia defend hockey World Cup title


The Hague, June 15 (IANS): Australia successfully defended their hockey World Cup title, which they had won four years ago in New Delhi, drubbing the Netherlands 6-1 in the final at the Kyocera Stadium here Sunday.

While Australia and Netherlands took gold and silver, Argentina clinched their maiden medal at the event by winning the bronze after beating England 2-0 in the 3rd-4th position playoff.
